HER2 heterogeneity and subclonal evolution
We reconstruct how HER2-high and HER2-low subpopulations compete, cooperate and change during targeted therapy.
Which subclones seed resistance, and how does treatment alter their evolutionary relationships?
HER2-positive breast cancers can contain multiple subpopulations with different levels of oncogene expression and distinct drug sensitivities. The laboratory develops heterogeneous models that preserve this diversity and reveal how treatment reshapes clonal composition.
By tracking subclonal dynamics through response and relapse, the programme aims to identify combination strategies that prevent resistant populations from emerging.
